Mr. Michael Morjal Director of Bands

Mr. Morjal is in his sixth year as director of bands at Lincoln County
High School and Ninth Grade Academy. He is a graduate of LaVergne
High School where he excelled as a trombonist attaining acceptance to
the Governor's School for the Arts as well as the All-State Band and
All-State Jazz Band.
After graduating high school, Mr. Morjal attended Middle Tennessee
State University as a scholarship student where he was principal player
of the university wind ensemble from the time he was a freshman
through his senior year. He was also a member and section leader of
the Band of Blue, Trombone Quartet, Brass Ensemble, Trombone
Ensemble, Salsa Band, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Jazz Band,
and Middle Tennessee Symphony. He is also a member of the Omicron
Tau chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
Upon graduating from MTSU, Mr. Morjal accepted positions as Director of Bands at Stewart
County High School and LaVergne High School. Under his direction, his bands have
consistently received superior ratings and first-place trophies at festivals and contests
including a perfect marching score with Stewart County at the Division II State Marching Band
Competition.
Mr. Morjal has performed with the Middle Tennessee Symphony, Huntsville Symphony,
Knoxville Symphony, Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, Tennessee Philharmonic, and the
Nashville Symphony. In addition he has performed at Opryland, on the General Jackson
Showboat, and on numerous studio recording projects in Nashville including projects with
Arrangers Publishing Company, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith.
Mr. Morjal lives in Lewisburg with his new bride Kristen, his puppy Mickey, and is a fanatic of
all things Disney and the Great Smoky Mountains!

Mr. Curt Elverd
Assistant/Music/Drill Tech
Curt Elverd is currently in his sixth year as Music
Director at Blanche School. Before becoming
full-time director at Blanche, Mr. Elverd was also
director at Unity School. During his tenure at
Blanche, Mr. Elverd has guided his band students to
make the Mid-State and Tri-Lakes Honor Bands, and
directed numerous school activities from band
concerts to talent shows and other full school
programs.
Mr. Elverd graduated from the Chattanooga School
for the Arts and Sciences where he participated in the
Chattanooga Youth Symphony, All-East Band, and
All-East Jazz Band. After high school, Mr. Elverd
attended Tennessee Tech University. During his four
years at TTU, Mr. E was head drum major for the
Golden Eagle Marching Band, principal trumpet in the
Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble, University
Orchestra, and B-Street Brass Quintet, and member of
the Trumpet Ensemble that placed fourth at the
National Trumpet Competition over many of the top
music schools from across the country. Mr. Elverd
graduated Magna Cum Laude and is currently working
on a Masters in Instructional Leadership.
Mr. Elverd has performed with the Bryan Symphony
Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony and Opera,
Chattanooga Concert Band, Signal Mountain
Playhouse, and appeared as a soloist and performer
with numerous community groups across the state.

Daniel Henderson
Percussion Instructor
Daniel is in his first year as percussion instructor for
the LCHS Band. He is a graduate of Lincoln County
High School where he excelled as a percussionist.
Upon graduating, he began studying at Tennessee
Tech University where he is currently enrolled, and
a member of the marching band's drumline.
